Our History
The New Mexico Diabetes Advisory Council (NMDAC) was formed in September 1993 to address the serious issues facing New Mexicans with diabetes. The NMDAC includes a broad spectrum of individuals and groups concerned with diabetes. The general membership is now comprised of more than 700 people including dietitians, health educators, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, social workers, and representatives from clinics, pueblos, tribes, educational institutions, and many other organizations. The NMDAC Board was formed in September 2001 to act in an advisory and leadership role. In 2007, the NMDAC became a 501(c)(3) organization. |
Our Mission
The mission of the NMDAC is to promote health practices, policies, and systems that support the quality and accessability of diabetes prevention and care in New Mexico.
Our Vision
Our vision is that all New Mexicans enjoy a healthy life with access to quality, affordable, and culturally appropriate resources.
